We are grateful for the support of North Coast Resource Partnership and the technical assistance being provided by the Watershed Research and Training Center that has made this work possible.

The North Coast Resource Partnership (NCRP) is a long term, innovative and successful collaboration among Northern California Tribes, counties, and diverse stakeholders. The NCRP region covers over 19,000 square miles – 12% of the California landscape – and includes the Tribal lands and the counties of Del Norte, Humboldt, Trinity, Siskiyou, Modoc, Mendocino and Sonoma.

Since 2004, the partnership has engaged in collaborative, integrated planning and project implementation, investing over $85 million in hundreds of projects that benefit the North Coast Region’s communities and watersheds. The NCRP has a long history of focusing on a set of integrated, multi-benefit outcomes for the region’s watersheds and communities – ranging from the protection and enhancement of biological diversity, local economic development, enhancement of built infrastructure, water quality and supply, human community health and safety, and climate action – including sequestration, emissions reduction and climate adaptation.

In partnership with North Coast Resource Partnership on the North Coast Forest Biomass Strategy Project, the Watershed Research & Training Center (WRTC)is using its deep expertise on the issues and knowledge of the region to lead overall implementation. The WRTC is a nonprofit organization located in the heart of Trinity County, California. It conducts the full gamut of land and water management services, leads state biomass and fire resilience partnerships, and through partnerships with communities, organizations, and public agencies, it stewards the landscape, creates and sustains quality jobs, and connects people to the land and each other.
